Antiques dealing for Maxine started 25 years ago as an expedient
way of disposing of a large inherited collection of blue and
white china. This preoccupation has expanded progressively over
25 years culminating in 'Marryat Antiques'. The shop is named
after Maxine's ancestor, Captain Frederick Marryat. |

Acton Bond (Dealer)
Barbara specialises in Chinese artefacts and tomb figures. She
lived many years in Hong Kong, so has studied the subject first
hand. Barbara also designs and makes unique jewellery based
on ancient Chinese court jewellery. More |
Sabina
Franklyn (Dealer)
Sabina has been dealing in antiques for nearly 30 years. Beginning
her "apprenticeship" at Camden Market and Covent Garden,
she then went on the London Fair circuit and now specialises
in antique jewellery, silver and decorative items. |
Richard
Morris (Dealer)
Richard specialises in antiques with a strong element of period
and especially those from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco eras.
His other professional activity is production designer for television
and theatre, in pursuit of which he works on light entertainment
shows, operas, and for the ballet. He's the designer behind
many high profile productions. |
Doug
Pinchin (Dealer)
Doug has been engaged with antiques for more than 30 years,
first as a private collector and then as dealer/writer/lecturer.
His speciality is Royal Doulton. He was editor of 'Collecting
Doulton' magazine and has written several books on the same.
As well as dealing in a wide range of decorative antiques he
lectures on Royal Doulton. |
Louisa
Rix (Dealer)
Louisa was a dealer at Marryat 10 years ago and she left to
to run her own soft furnishings business. She has now returned
to sell painted furniture, small decorative pieces, glass and
silver. |
Sue
Smith (Manager)
Sue's background is in fashion and interior design, enabling
her to contribute advice on display and interior decoration.
Sue has been with Marryat for 11 years. |

Sandra and Ann both love and appreciate antiques. |

Weston
Through Hamilton Weston we have an interior design team
which specialises in historic wallpapers and period interiors.

Burnham (Restorer)
Glen is Marryat's resident furniture restorer. He trained at
West Dean. He has been restoring antiques since 1984 and joined
Marryat in 1992. |
